Absolutely! The GEM is located just 2km from the Pyramids of Giza, making a combo day trip ideal. We recommend visiting GEM first in the cool morning (08:30-12:00), then heading to the Pyramids and Sphinx in the afternoon. Our GEM + Pyramids combo tours include both sites with private transport and expert guide.
Tutankhamun's complete collection of over 5,300 objects is now displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum. This is the first time ALL of King Tut's treasures have been exhibited together, including his famous golden death mask, gold sarcophagus, ceremonial chariots, jewel-encrusted sandals, thrones, and personal belongings. Previously, items were split between the old Egyptian Museum and storage.
Yes! The GEM was designed with accessibility in mind. There are wide step-free paths, lifts throughout, gentle ramps, clear wayfinding signage, and rest areas. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome. There's also a dedicated Children's Museum section with interactive exhibits, plus cafés and restaurants for family breaks.
While not mandatory, a licensed Egyptologist guide significantly enhances your experience. The museum houses 100,000+ artifacts spanning 5,000 years — a guide helps you navigate, highlights must-see pieces, explains historical context, and ensures you don't miss hidden gems. Our guided tours include skip-the-line access and typically last 3-4 hours.
